Okay, obviously that is not my picture. It is the work of the talented Lara Jade Coton. So who am I? Well, my name is not that important. So let's call me Ravin (short for Raving Lunatic...cute huh?). What you want me to go by what my nephew calls me... Boogerbutt. No, I think I will reserve that for him only. Alright now for some background. Like I said earlier, I am 28. I am the oldest of five children. I am married to Suki (that is not his real name... it means fondness in Japanese). We have been married for about three years and currently have no children. We have been together (as a couple) for seven years. I have four cats (Salem, Lilith, Ivy, and Apaphus). We live in Ohio and have for a major part of our lives. Suki was born here but I was not. I was born in Riverside, California, My family also lived in Illinois before we moved to Ohio.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in East Asian Studies with an emphasis on Japanese Language (hence Suki's name). I currently do not have a career in that field but neither do a lot of college graduates. I have a high interest in Asian Cultures, but European as well. I had planned to be a French teacher, but the call of Japan beckoned me elsewhere. I studied Japanese for three years and French for six. I try to keep my mind refreshed on both of those languages because I don't want to lose that ability.
I enjoy reading fiction books such as Silence of the Lamb, Hannibal, Red Dragon, anything written by William J. Johnstone, Yoshimoto Banana, etc. I love thrillers, mysteries, horror, and weird stories. Right now, I am ready "Wicked". It is about the life of the Wicked Witch of the West. I enjoy old movies such as "The Thin Man Series", "Notorious", "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane", and etc. Turner Classic Movie Channel is always on at my house. With that said I am not a big fan on TV. I would rather read a book or listen to music than watch the boob tube. Once my French teacher told me that in France they sometimes call watching TV: reste a la bebe. (watching like a baby with drool and stuff). Ever since then I can't get that site out of my head: sitting on the couch letting your brain turn to mush. YUCK! I do like seeing the occasional movie such as "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl", "The Crow", "Van Helsing", and "You've Got Mail" (the only true chick flick I actually like). I also adore Gong Lee movies. I am not sure why though. She either goes crazy in them, she dies, or sometimes both. Anyway, I also enjoy playing The Sims both the first one and the second. You might say that my whole family is addicted to it. It is quite fun and quite easy to blow a whole day just playing it.
As I said before I enjoy listening to music. I like all types, although I am not a huge fan of either country or rap. However there are some decent songs in both of those genres that I like. My absolute favorite bands are Type O Negative, Collide, The Cranberries, 69 Eyes, Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, etc. Like I said I have a wide variety of tastes.
In case you would like a glimpse of my life, you can check out my daily ranting on http://www.livejournal.com/users/lillithann/. I told Suki when we first met that he would never have a boring day with me. After seven years, he can tell you that he has never ever been bored with me. Something weird is always happening. You will just have to read for yourself.
I also have a condition known as PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome). I have dedicated a whole page on information on the subject. Why? Because when I was diagnosed it was very hard to find any information on the subject. I will also include links that I have found most helpful.
I have included a whole page of links to my favorite sites. Most of these are thank you and acknowledgements of the artists who supplied some of the artwork here. They are very talented and I want to acknowledge their achievements.
Well, now you know more about me. Why don't you tell me more about you. How about dropping me a line at [email protected]? Wouldn't that be nice, then we can be friends. How wonderful!
